Gary Weiss
New Zealand born and a qualified barrister and solicitor in New Zealand, Gary
progressed from practising and lecturing in law into industry, with an initial
appointment as a director of Industrial Equity Limited in Australia. This was
followed by a four year term with Sydney-based investment bankers, Whitlam, Turnbull
& Co. and, since 1992, Gary has been an executive director of Guinness Peat
Group PLC (GPG) and is chairman of Coats plc. Gary is a prominent Australian investment
banker and has considerable experience in the international business sector. He
is also chairman of Ariadne Australia Limited and MEM Group Limited, as well as
being a director of various other public companies outside the UK including Premier
Investments Ltd, Rubicon Ltd, Westfield Group and Tower Ltd. Gary’s involvement
in Ludgate/Ludgate 181 will help to establish a close link for Ludgate between
the UK and Australia.
